David S. Doty is the son of a school teacher who taught him early in life that education makes communities stronger. Crosscutting his career is a focus on making a difference in the lives of students and their families.
Presently, he serves as President of Engaged Learning, at Management and Training Corporation (MTC), where he oversees literacy, math, and career/technical education at roughly 70 Job Corp and correctional centers, for young adults, many of whom have endured hardship and learning challenges.
He has experience as a high school teacher, education attorney, higher education administrator, and superintendent of Canyons School District. Dr. Doty earned his B.A. (Spanish) from Brigham Young University, his M.A. (Education) and teaching certificates from Stanford University, and his J.D. and Ph.D. (Educational Leadership) from Brigham Young University. He is a member of both the Utah State Bar and the South Carolina Bar.
